H.M. SCHRAGER & Company was founded in New York City, NY, USA in 1925. It is widely believed that the operation ceased in 1962. Finding jewelry by this company is rare and a demi is especially so. They were known for their high quality work. We are please to offer this rare demi for sale. The hefty brooch is dimensional and the gold colored flower cup is filled with twinkling rhinestones in two shades of topaz or amber, all prong set. The flower cup sits an astonishing 7/8" from the base. The petals are lovingly brushed as is the stem and reverse. If you look into the flower cup the exceptional construction is revealed. The rhinestone stamens are attached to a frame that is in turn wired to the base. The matching earrings are the clip- on type. The hallmark “SCHRAGER” appears on the reverse of the brooch, however not on the earrings. Schrager jewelry was most often unmarked so this is not unusual. As you can see the earrings clearly match the exquisite almost life-like pin. c. early 1950s.
Condition: Excellent vintage. One spot of plating wear on the reverse of the pin and very minor wear to the earring is noted.
Measurements: Brooch: 2 1/4" long and 1 1/4" wide. Earrings: 1" in diameter and the setting is 3/8" above the clip.
